PetSafe Extreme Weather Pet Door
The Extreme Weather is a good quality, self-framing pet door designed to be installed in hollow or solid core doors from 1-5/8” - 2-1/4” in thickness. These PetSafe dog doors are the only doors to have a durable 3 flap design to maximize energy efficiency.
Features of the Extreme Weather
Unique in that it is the first ever to include three flaps.
The inside and outside are the same: a traditional vinyl flap, translucent rather than clear and fastened across the top with screws.
The middle flap is an insulated foam with a yellow vinyl covering.
Magnet bar across the bottom of both outer flaps seals to a floating threshold.
This door is 3-½ times higher in efficiency than any of the other PetSafe single flap type doors.
Snap on closing panel can be put on the inside or outside to close off the pet door when not in use.
Can be installed in a wall if you have a contractor who can frame it out for you.
Paintable white plastic frame and cover.
Perfect Time for the Extreme Weather Pet Door
If there is something above the dog door install location that would not work with the typical top load closing cover design, the snap on cover used to block off this pet door would work since it snaps on from the front.
This is a decently insulating door if you are on a budget.
The closing cover can be installed on the inside or on the outside, so if you sometimes lock your pets indoors and other times outdoors, you can place the cover on the appropriate side.
