    Description

    Up for auction is a very nice Ney Mfg. cast iron hay trolley drop pulley in very good condition. It has a patent date of 1879 and is one of the earliest patent dates that you will find on a hay pulley. This pulley locked into a late 1800's Ney Mfg. hay trolley and was used to put up loose hay. It is 12 1/2" tall with the clevis attached x 5" wide. It has been thoroughly cleaned and given an oil and wax finish. This process leaves the surface protected without any oily residue and retains some of the original patina. The top swivels and the sheave turns freely. There are no breaks. Barn pulleys make great rustic decorators and are very collectible. This wonderful example of an old barn pulley brought back to life will display beautifully in your home or place of business.
